This site explores the lives of the people who lived, worked, fought and built the British Colony of Victoria (Australia) from Separation (1851) to Federation (1901), and transformed it to become one of  the most progressive colonies in the British Empire at that Period.

This site recognises the traditional owners as the custodians of the land of the Yorta Yorta, Wurundjeri, Wemba-Wemba, Wathaurong, Ngarigo, Jarijari, Dadi Dadi, Jardwadjali Gulidjan Girai wurrung, Gadubanud, Gunai, Taungurong, Gunditjmara, Djab wurrung, Djadjawurrung, Djargurd Wurrung peoples and honors their leaders, past, present and emerging.
